About The Can Valet
We do the easiest chore you will NEVER do again.
For residential customers (single-family, up to 2 cans), we take the cans to the curb the evening before trash pickup day, starting at 6 pm. The next day, after trash has been collected, we place their cans back in their designated spot.
We also deep clean and sanitize the cans once a month to reduce the approximately 170 different bacteria present.
We service commercial residential properties (apartments) upon agreement with the property manager or management company for a fixed rate.
The apartment residents only need to tie the top of their trash bag and place the can outside the apartment door by 8 pm, Sunday through Thursday evening.
Starting at 8 pm, our team comes through the apartment building(s), collects the trash bags, and delivers them to the dumpster area. Once all bags have been collected each day, we sweep the dumpster area to help keep it clean. The residents just need to retrieve the trash can from in front of their apartment door.
About The Can Valet, LLC in The Corridor, Iowa
Veteran-Owned Residential Trash Valet Service
The Can Valet, LLC is a veteran-owned residential trash valet service serving homeowners and property managers throughout the Iowa City metro area and Cedar Rapids metro area. The company was founded to solve a simple problem: handling a household chore that most people genuinely do not enjoy.
Retrieving trash cans after collection is inconvenient for busy homeowners, especially after a long workday. You arrive home to find bins still at the curb, or you forget entirely and leave them out for days. The Can Valet eliminates that hassle by returning your bins promptly after collection, so you never have to think about it again.
The service works like this: after your trash is collected, The Can Valet returns your bins to their designated location near your home. You can also schedule trash can cleaning and sanitizing services to keep bins free of buildup and odor. It's the same kind of everyday convenience that services like Uber, DoorDash, and Instacart brought to transportation, food delivery, and grocery shopping—except this one removes a weekly chore from your list entirely.
Discover how residential trash valet service simplifies your routine.

Reliability and Discipline From Military Service
As a veteran-owned business, The Can Valet operates with the reliability, consistency, and professionalism that come from military service. You're not dealing with a large corporation with inconsistent contractors—you're working with a locally owned business that understands the value of showing up on time, every time, without excuses.
The company serves West Branch, Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Cedar Rapids, Marion, and surrounding communities throughout Eastern Iowa. Whether you're a homeowner managing a busy household or a property manager overseeing multiple locations, the service adapts to your collection schedule and property needs.
That discipline extends to customer-focused service. If you have specific instructions about where bins should be placed, or if your schedule changes, you communicate directly with someone who will follow through. The goal isn't just to move trash cans—it's to make trash day one less thing you have to remember or manage.
Dependable Service Throughout Eastern Iowa
When you work with The Can Valet, you know what to expect: your bins are returned to the same spot after every collection, and if you add trash can cleaning services, bins are sanitized on the schedule you choose. There's no guessing whether someone will show up, and no need to leave reminders for yourself on collection day.
